Our bionic glasses are not yet commercially available. We have developed and built a prototype, which we are currently testing with visually impaired users to check they can interpret what the glasses are displaying.
Using this information, we will make a new version of the glasses which will be the best model yet, and let users test them in a controlled, laboratory environment. We hope to have the results of these experiments by December 2011. Then we will test the prosthetic in real-life situations, refining the programming we use, and intend to go into production with a commercially available product by 2014.
